So the story goes...

Two weeks ago was mine and Matt's one year anniversary!! [*cheers!*] I was planning a romantic lobster dinner for us, but then Matt dislocated his shoulder earlier in the day, which put all of our plans to a halt. Matt has a really bad history with his right shoulder. He dislocated it a lot when he was younger, and it still gives him pain sometimes. It has been about five years since his last dislocated it, so this incident really set him back, physically and mentally. But he did go to the doctor and he is going to meet with a surgeon to see if he is a good candidate for surgery, which we're all sure he is. He hasn't been able to move his arm away from his body at all or, he says, it feels like it will pop back out again.

Needless to say he was feeling kind of down on himself for what happened, and he had really sunk into sort of a "bummer mood" for the next week and a half. So I decided (since we still hadn't done anything whatsoever to celebrate our anniversary) that we should go down island and stay at a Bed & Breakfast for a couple of days. We could not have asked for a better time. The first morning we woke up and I noticed that Matt had gone back to his old self, which was my goal, I think he just needed to take his mind of his shoulder. Our B&B was amazing, I was kind of nervous about staying at one, because you never know if you'll get the crazies, but we found a true gem. Our hosts, Inge and Jurgen our German (if you couldn't tell) and they had a beautiful house with all kinds of gorgeous art and pottery all over their house. Not to mention the food, they are amazing cooks! The first morning we had poached eggs with panchito on toast, and the second we had spinach kiesh!

We spent two days wandering around Campbell River and shopping. We found the most awesome thai restaurant downtown, we saw Harry Potter and The Ugly Truth in the theater (we never get to see movies in the theater anymore!), and we HAD to go to the lake once we couldn't bare the heat anymore. We even bought an air conditioner before we came home. It was such an amazing trip, and it felt SO long. We were only gone for two whole days, but it went by slowly, which was great. I didn't take very many pictures, but we did stop in this abandoned barn/field to take pictures, here are a few...
